A: Playa del Carmen is located on the Caribbean coast of Mexico in the Yucatan Peninsula. The "Yucatan" consists of three states. Playa del Carmen is in the state of Quintana Roo.

Playa del Carmen is about an hour south of Cancun by car or bus. The ferry to Cozumel is located in Playa del Carmen. Playacar is just south of Playa del Carmen.
